RUF and the user |
1/10 |
The RUF system is a transport system based upon electric cars and a network of monorails. A typical trip will use the roads to drive the first few kilometers until the ruf arrives at the access rail to the guideway network. The system takes control over the vehicle and guides it safely onto the monorail at 30 km/h. On the monorail the ruf will join a train and speed up to a top speed of at least 150 km/h. When the ruf gets close to the destination, it leaves the monorail and the driver takes control again and drives to the destination. Travel time will be short and predictable and the time on the rail can be used constructively either to relax or to work "on line" and earn money. |
